Walking Belgrade Private Tour Guides

Private guides who engage travelers with the unique cultural value of Belgrade

Ksenija Kastratović, MA Art History, Founder & Guide

Born in Belgrade in 1977, Ksenija grew up in New Belgrade, where her public school had mathematics and literary sections, choir and a swimming pool. Ksenija participated in all four extra curricular activities, besides socializing outdoors with her friends. They still socialize 40 years later.

During the first half of 1990ies Ksenija was attending a grammar school in the city centre and going out to rock n roll clubs. During the second half of the 1990ies she studied Art History at Belgrade University.

In 2001 she obtained the tour guide license, pursuing her vision of becoming a creator and guide of cultural tours.

After the first 10 years of her corporate career in another field, Ksenija left for Rome, Italy, where she spent two years, attending graduate studies in Art History at La Sapienza University and cultural tours guiding courses.

Upon her return to Belgrade, Ksenija founded Walking Belgrade Private Tours in 2016. The itineraries and content were created with the insight and input from the professionals from Ksenija’s network. Their expert knowledge and love for Belgrade, arts and culture provided the criteria for curating Walking Belgrade Private Tours.

Igor Mijović, MA History, Guide

Born in  Belgrade in 1999, two weeks before NATO intervention in then’s Yugoslavia. Since he was little Igor was fascinated with history, which was only helped by his grandfather who took him to castles, fortresses and ancient archaeological sites. No wonder Igor completed masters studies in Medieval History at the University of Belgrade.

As a teenager, Igor lived in Indonesia, with his parents and sister. That’s where he first developed his appetite for Asian food, diverse cultures and building connections with people from all around the world.

Igor worked as a specialized guide at the Belgrade Fortress, an assistant curator at the Museum of the 90s in Belgrade and a grammar school history teacher.

A licensed tour guide since 2024, he’s been travelling the world and Serbia and bringing the little known human stories back to life. Igor’s interests besides history include  gastronomy, the fine art of wine and beer tasting, and last but not least, the endless beauty of architecture.
